Anyone get their artisan 800 going again using these 2 downloads? I keep seeing 2 other files are needed and they cost $10 each? I know I tried this years ago and it was just allowing 1 page to finish printing, the file is originally an Epson program file that was free, that's why they can't charge you for this first file, but it doesn't fix anything! So how can this be posted as a free fix? Almost as bad as Epson for screwing everyone over! What needs to be done is a class action suit should have been started years ago based on the simple fact that Epson failed to let buyers know that their printers were limited in use based on 2 factors (1) amount of use (after a number ____ of pages printed, it will not allow anymore (2) if number of pages were not printed in a certain time (__ years) the printer will not allow any more use based on time passed since first use.
This is exactly how they decided to sell their printers but never mentioned this as part of the printer use. If this was posted on the box or even on their website they know they would never had sold many of their printers, they purposely concealed this info until it became a well known issue years later then posted an explanation that makes no sense and tries to tell buyers to invest in a new printer after the fact! They claim they did it to keep people from having diminished quality of prints? Why do they decide when that occurs and what gives them the right to stop the owner from using the printer that they paid for with the understanding that it was theirs to use no matter how good or bad it was? The owner makes the decision to use the printer with lesser quality if they want to, they can buy a new one when they decide it's time not forced by greedy companies. The other saying waste ink system will be full is a lie as well. I've taken apart no less than 30 printers that were in operation their entire life and never saw any of the waste ink pads used more than 10%! There may be some that had defects in the cartriges that caused them to leak out constantly or the printer had a problem which leaked ink but that's not normal use and even then the pads were never more than 30% used.
